New Mexico improves to 13-8 overall and 4-4 in the MWC with its second straight win...the Lobos have won 11 of their last 12 games (4 straight) in The Pit, improving to 13-3 at home this season...Wyoming fell to 9-12, 2-6 in the league, and has lost six of seven since opening the conference season with a 82-77 win over UNM in Laramie...the Lobos victory snapped a 3-game Wyoming winning streak in the series.

New Mexico held Wyoming scoreless for the first 6:41 of the game, building a 14-0 lead before a Mikel Watson ended the drought with a three at the 13:19 mark...prior to Watson's basket, Wyoming was 0-3 from the floor and had committed 7 turnovers on its first 10 possessions.

Wyoming closed to within three, 44-41, 3:31 into the second half, before New Mexico regained control of the game with a 15-3 run over the next four minutes...much of the UNM burst came with a lineup that included Danny Granger, Mark Walters, Alfred Neale, Justin Benson and Collins Ferris...the Lobos led the entire game for the 12th time at home this year.

Two days after UNM and Colorado State combined for 48 points and 2 threes in the first half, the Lobos and Cowboys recorded a combined 70 points and 14 threes in the first 20 minutes.

Wyoming started the night 0-2 from beyond the arc, then hit 9 of its next 11 threes before connecting on just 2 of 10 over the final 17:26 of the game...the Cowboys finished with a season-high 11 3-point field goals, including 8 in the first half...Wyoming's previous high for the year was 9 vs. San Diego State and Tennessee State...7 of the Cowboys first 10 shots were 3s...Wyoming scored its only basket inside the arc at the 8:09 mark as UNM held a 16-2 advantage in first half points in the paint.

UNM forced 17 Wyoming turnovers, including 11 in the first half...the Lobos have forced a combined 31 turnovers (15.5 avg.) in their last two games after opponents averaged just 9.3 (56) giveaways in the previous 6 contests.

New Mexico hit 29-31 free throws on the night for a percentage of 93.5...the UNM school record for FT percentage in a game is 96.2% (25-26) versus Wyoming on Feb. 15, 1979...UNM started tonight's game 13-13 and had hit 28-29 (96.6%) with under a minute left in the contest...Granger was the only Lobo to miss, but still connected on 11-13.

UNM post David Chiotti scored 20 points on 5-8 shooting from the field and 10-10 from the free throw line...it marked his third 20-point outing of the season and his career-high in a MWC game

UNM forward Danny Granger recorded his second 30-point game as a Lobo, tying a season-high...he last scored 30 at Wyoming on Jan. 12, 2004...his career-high is 37 points against Evansville (1-11-03) in his last game at Bradley University...with 42.7 left in the game, Granger caught an elbow in the right temple and was helped off the court by his teammates...after the game Granger said he had suffered a concussion, but will play in Saturday's game at Air Force.

UW junior guard Jason Straight did not attempt a shot until the 5:07 mark of the first half, then went 3-3 from beyond the arc over the next four minutes...Straight finished with 19 points, including 3-6 3-point shooting, and 8 assists.

Wyoming guard David Adams scored 7 points, hitting 1-2 from 3-point range...Adams led the Cowboys with 24 points and knocked down 6 of 7 from beyond the arc in the Cowboys win over UNM earlier in the year.
