Analise Rubalcava Named All-Mountain West Conference

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- New Mexico sophomore Analise Rubalcava was named All-Mountain West Conference today as announced by the league office. Rubalcava led the Lobos softball team with a .393 batting average, 48 hits and 34 RBI. Rubalcava was the only UNM selection and earns the honor for the first time in her career after starting every game at third base. UNM finished the year with a 20-25 overall record and a 9-11 conference mark.

Rubalcava was second on the team with seven homeruns and was an offensive machine during conference play, hitting .481 in 20 games with 16 RBI. The Chandler, Ariz., native, had an overall on-base percentage of .519. Defensively, she is one of the best third baseman in the conference with a .963 fielding percentage with 51 putouts and 107 assists.

UNM concluded its first year under the direction of Ty Singleton. Singleton and the Lobos played eight teams that reached the NCAA Tournament this year and hit .277 in 45 games.
