Senior Lobo Brandon Ratcliff

Question: Are you glad to put the Texas Tech offense behind you and face something a little more traditional?

Brandon Ratcliff: Yes, but Brigham Young runs the same kind of passing attack. They run three or four wides. Texas Tech's offense is more fast paced, while BYU's tempo is a little slower.

Q: Is the defense' s confidence hurt by what happened Saturday, giving up 42 points?

BR: No, we're not hurt. It was just a wake-up call. We need to tighten up on our communication.

Q: What's your number one goal this week?

BR: Our number one goal this week is to win.

Q: How do you do that on the field?

BR: I have to give it everything I've got and not taking any plays off.

Q: People talk a lot about the UNM corners being inexperienced, how do you feel about that?

BR: I'm not too concerned. Game experience means a lot, but I know they have a lot of talent so once they watch a little film and play some more they will know how to execute.

Q: How do you feel about playing BYU and your former defensive coordinator (Bronco Mendenhall)?

BR: It was nice to win on the road last year but if we can come back and win at home and get back to back series wins, that would be even better. It's a big game regardless, but having Bronco Mendenhall on the sidelines just adds to the spice.
