Box Score

TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona Western College handed the Lobo softball team its second straight loss, 4-1, to end UNM's tournament and fall season. The Lobos finished the fall season 4-3 overall.

The Lobos were quickly in a 3-0 deficit after the first inning after Arizona Western scored on four hits and an error. UNM put one run up on the board in the third thanks to junior Stephanie Kennedy's RBI single that brought home classmate Jamar Bynum, who led off the inning with a walk.

Junior Kristina Schmallen hit .500 (1-for-2) for the Lobos while four teammates were 1-for-3. Senior Ashley Perkins suffered the loss, throwing a seven-hit complete game with one walk and three strikeouts.

The Lobos return to action in the spring on Feb. 4, 2005 at the UC Santa Barbara Tournament.
