Lobo Volleyball Goes 2-1-1 At Arizona Spring Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. --- The University of New Mexico volleyball team got the Spring season off to a solid start. UNM went 2-1-1 at the Arizona Invitational in Tucson on March 27.

The Lobos beat Wichita State 2-0 and Northern Arizona 2-0, lost to host Arizona 2-0, and split with No. 2 Texas, 1-1. Texas was the 2009 NCAA national runner-up to Penn State. Wichita State advanced to the NCAA Second Round before losing to seventh-seeded Iowa State. Arizona, like the Lobos, took a loss in the 2009 NCAA First Round.

UNM returns to action on Saturday, April 3 with the UNM Spring Invitational at Johnson Center South Gym. Scheduled opponents are Texas Tech, UTEP, Northern Arizona and Frank Phillips.
