Senior Linebacker Daniel Gawronski
Question: How did the big win affect the team in their thoughts and goals for the rest of the season?
Daniel Gawronski: "The game Friday was like coach said. When we play 60 minutes, good things are going to happen. We played a physical game and we tried to get after them and were fortunate to come out with a victory. As for this week, we have to let this game that we just played fall behind us. We won, okay, wooptie-do. We celebrated this weekend and now we have to come in focused, play our assignments and get a victory."
Q: Does it make it easier in practice after a big win like against Colorado State?
DG: "It does make it easier, but you have to focus on this game ahead. We have a lot of seniors on this team so everyone is really trying to put that game behind us and focus on Air Force."
Q: Playing your final game here on Saturday, you want to come out here, get a win and play strong right?
DG: "Speaking as a senior, I want to come out of my last game at home in front of our home crowd with a "W". It's a big game too. We have to get to a bowl this year."
Q: What kind of emotions do you think you will have on Saturday with it being your last game here?
DG: "I'm going to let it all loose this weekend. I won't be holding anything back. We got to win this game. It's going to be very physical. Every hit that I try to put on somebody is going to hurt."
Q: Is it harder to prepare for Air Force since they run the option?
DG: "Yeah, with this kind of offense, everyone has a different assignment. For us to come out with a victory, everyone is going to have to be assignment sound, from our d-line, linebackers, to the corners not biting up, playing the pass. If we all stay assignment sound then I think we can be successful."
