It also will include the addition of new dugouts, scoreboard, fencing and infield turf. "Thanks to the forward thinking of Paul Krebs, Tim Cass and our entire state, the UNM baseball facilities will get a huge upgrade," Birmingham said. "I just want to say thank you to everyone that cares about UNM and New Mexico."
Senior Associate Athletics Director Tim Cass, who has been one of the constant driving forces behind the project, is thrilled to get started.
"It is always exciting when you are putting a shovel in the ground," Cass said. "I know coach Birmingham is excited and our kids are excited and that filters down through all of us."
Others expected to be in attendance include: Lobo Field donors, Dugout Club supporters, Lobo Baseball Lettermen, Lobo Club Board members, and the current 2012 Lobo baseball team.
