Hey Lobo Fans!

Another week has come and gone for our Lobo Volleyball team. We packed our things on Tuesday night and were out of town by Wednesday afternoon. Our first destination was Fort Collins, Colorado. We arrived, as usual, a day before our game and had a great practice in Moby Arena. On Thursday night, our first televised match of the season started at 7 p.m. I'd like to thank all of you who made the time to watch us on the Mountain. As you may already be aware, we battled hard against the CSU Rams that night, but unfortunately gave up our second conference loss.

We were ready to face our new opponent later that evening. We were able to put the past behind us and look forward to the new opportunity that presented itself on Saturday night. Before Saturday rolled around, the team enjoyed a round of Charades before Friday night's practice, organized by our assistant coach Steve Hendricks. Imagine Allison Buck acting out "The Lion King" or Ashley Rhoades desperately trying to look like Mario from "Mario Bros" I had the hardest time trying to get my team to guess the video game "Resident Evil." Needless to say, it was hysterical. That night we decided as a team to go see a movie at the theaters. After a long selection process, we decided on "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," a new animated film based off of the popular children's storybook. That outing also lifted our spirits and we were ready to play Wyoming the next day.

Our team played very well against Wyoming. We clinched the two first sets, then had a bit of a rough patch during game 3 which cost us the set. We came back strong in the fourth to win the match. Ashley had a career high of 12 kills and 7 blocks that night, and Taylor also had an excellent match with 14 kills. I'm really enjoying being a Lobo and I'm so honored to be a part of this team.

We had quite a few Lobo fans at both of our away games this past week including friends, parents and other family members. It's always great to see you there! And for the rest of our faithful fans, thanks for checking in with us on GoLobos.com! I can't believe we are half way through our season already. It's been a lot of fun so far and we'd love for you all to come join us this week when we play San Diego State and Air Force at home. Thanks for your undying support!

Go Lobos!
