ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The No.24 University of New Mexico women's basketball team will play the No. 10 and defending national champion Baylor University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Monday. The Lobos advanced to the second round with an 83-59 win over Florida, while the Lady Bears moved on to the second round with a 74-56 win over Northern Arizona. Tip-off Monday form the McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona, is set for 5:00 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN2.

TONIGHT'S GAME: The No. 24/24 University of New Mexico Lobos will play the No. 10/10 Baylor Lady Bears at the McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona, for the second round of the NCAA Tournament. This is the first time since 2003 that the Lobos have advanced to the second round.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: UNM is 22-9 on the season and finished tied for third in the conference at 11-5. The Lobos have wins over Oral Roberts in the first round of the preseason WNIT, Cal in the second round, at No. 12 Texas, Marist, Oklahoma State, No. 10 Minnesota, Louisiana Monroe, North Dakota State, No. 22 Utah, Wyoming, UNLV, TCU, BYU, home and away against New Mexico State, Colorado State, Air Force and San Diego State and against Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with losses to Oklahoma twice, at No. 12 Arizona State, at TCU, at BYU, at Utah, at Wyoming, at UNLV and in the MWC Tournament to UNLV. New Mexico is led in scoring by sophomore Dionne Marsh at 15.6 ppg. Senior Abbie Letz leads the team in rebounding at 7.6 rpg., while junior Katie Montgomery leads UNM in assists at 3.5 apg.

SCOUTING THE LADY BEARS: Baylor is the defending national champions and the third seed in the Albuquerque Region. This season they are 25-6 and was 12-4 in the Big 12 for second. The Lady Bears have wins over Georgia, UCLA, at Indiana, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Cal, Marshal, Washington, McNeese State, at Army, Sam Houston State, Texas Tech, at Iowa State, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, at Kansas State, home and away to Texas, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, in the Big 12 Tournament against Kansas State and Texas A&M and Northern Arizona in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with losses at Missouri, at Texas Tech, home and away to Oklahoma and in the Big 12 Tournament finals to Oklahoma. The leading scorer and rebounder for BU is senior Sophia Young at 22.2 ppg. and 9.9 rpg. Leading them in assists is sophomore Angela Tisdale at 5.8 apg.
