UNM Head Coach Ritchie McKay
"My hats off to Cornell, I thought they had an excellent game plan. I thought that their two guards, I had mentioned to the media, that Kar'Ron Barnes and Cody Toppert could play. I thought they were really good players. We didn't do the kind of job that we needed to for forty minutes to take the team and bury them. I think that is what we are used to at home. We started with so much emotion and so much effort that it has really carried us and we put people away. Every time we were at that point they hit that big bucket. I am pleased we got the win. I think we played with effort but the execution is the question."
UNM Jr. Forward Danny Granger
(On the game): "They challenged us a lot. They came in here and they played good. We're used to coming out and beating everybody by a lot of points, but tonight it was close."
(On play of Cornell guard Ka'Ron Barnes): "Sometimes a guy gets a hot hand and he's just pulling three's. My hat goes off to him and his team because they came out and played us. Overall a good job to them."
UNM So. Guard Mark Walters
"At the beginning of the game we looked tired and we were playing lackadaisical. I tried to come off the bench and give us that spark, that energy. I tried to get us going, getting rebounds, diving on the floor after loose balls and doing things that don't show up on the stats sheet."
