NEWARK, Del. - The New Mexico volleyball team fell to Delaware in three games, 30-17, 30-24, 30-22, Friday night at the Delaware Invitational. UNM, who defeated George Washington in four games earlier in the day, concludes tournament action Saturday vs. Albany at 10 a.m. MDT.
The Lobos (3-2) struggled offensively against the Blue Hens, managing only 38 kills for a .212 attack percentage. Kelly Therkelsen and Nicole Ryan led the Lobos with nine kills apiece, while Jennifer Heasty collected seven kills. Monica Meihack paced the offense with 27 assists and Adah Burke led the defense with 13 digs.
Delaware (3-2), avenging a sweep it suffered last season in Albuquerque, hit .398 as a team and had four players in double-digits for kills. Claire McCormack led the charge with 14 kills.
