Lobo Women's Soccer Signs Nine National Letters of Intent

The University of New Mexico women's soccer team has signed nine student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Head coach Kit Vela announced the signing of Elizabeth Hemminger, Angela Noelle Lee, Alexis Leyba, Brianna Martinez, Madisyn Olguin, Madison Shipherd, Amelia Statkus, Natalie Zeenni and Cassandra Ulrich to the 2011 Lobo women's soccer roster.

"This is a very, very talented group," explained Vela. "They will give us threat, depth, and width. They are going to give us a lot of ability to be creative with our lineup and make us better in the future."

Four of the nine signees hail from local schools in New Mexico, while five are from California.

"We are very excited about having more local flavor on the roster.," said Vela. "There are some very talented players in New Mexico and we are always looking to bring in good Californians."

A four year letter winner at Hope Christian High School...named 1-3A New Mexico soccer player of the year in 2010...2nd team all-metro selection, 1-3A first team all-state, first team all-district in 2010...member of the National Honor Society and Dean's Honor Roll...player for New Mexico Olympic Development Program...five-time New Mexico State Cup Champions...grandfather, Clarage, played football at Aburn from 1946-48.
