  • New Mexico, the No. 4 seed, nips 6th-seed San Diego State 62-59 to claim the Mountain West Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament...New Mexico improves to 20-12 and has won 6 in a row...San Diego State is 18-13
  • New Mexico has claimed its 5th MWC Championship in the past 6 seasons: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008...that means UNM is 15-1 in MWC Championship games since 2003
  • The Lobos advance to their 7th straight NCAA Tournament and their 9th trip overall...it's also the school's 8th straight 20-win season and 10th in school history...all of these achievements have come under head coach Don Flanagan, who is in his 13th season
  • Lobo seniors Dionne Marsh and Brandi Kimble combined for 43 points, 19 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks...they both played 39 minutes today
