ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The New Mexico women's basketball team dropped a heartbreaking 53-50 decision to conference leader Utah Sunday inside The Pit. Utah, who trailed most of the game, finished the second half on an 8-0 run and stole the victory away from the Lobos. The Utes improved to 14-6 and 7-0 in the Mountain West Conference. New Mexico slips to 16-4 overall and 5-2 in league play.

Utah senior Morgan Warburton scored a game-high 18 points including a game winning three-pointer with :06 on the clock. Warburton's game-winner came moments after junior Kalee Whipple had hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 50-50 for the Utes.

Warburton finished the game going 8-for-10 from the field and had her third double-double of the year. Warburton scored 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Utah.

New Mexico took its second loss at home and dropped its second league game. The Lobos are 12-2 inside The Pit this season with the loss. Senior Angela Hartill led the way for UNM after scoring 13 points. Junior Amy Beggin was the only other Lobo to reach double figures with 11 points.

The Lobos will hit the road next week for two conference games. UNM plays at Wyoming on Wednesday and at UNLV Saturday. Both of those games will be available via radio on 610 AM The Sports Animal. Gametracker will be available at www.GoLobos.com.
