AUSTIN, Texas – The University of New Mexico track and field team finished up competition at the four-day Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with a solid showing from the small group of Lobos out in Texas.

With just a few athletes making the trip, New Mexico relied on some of its best performers for production.

Two men registered marks, with both coming in the hurdles. Sophomore Chaz Lewis placed 20th in the preliminary round of the men’s 400-meter hurdles with a 53.03-second time and junior De'Vron Walker placed 26th in the preliminary running of the men’s 110m hurdles with a time of 14.74. Neither athlete advanced to the finals.

On the women’s side, three Lobos recorded marks. Seniors Ruth Senior and Natalie Gray competed in the women’s 1,500-meter run, with Senior’s 4:38.30 clocking earning tenth and Gray’s 4:39.04 time securing 11th.

Sophomore pole vaulter Margo Tucker tallied the last New Mexico finish, as her 12-foot, 7.5-inch vault was good for 11th overall.

The Lobos return to action next week as they both host the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque as well as travel to the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
