Women's Sports Foundation Challenge
Western Michigan Broncos vs. New Mexico Lobos November 9, 2007
New Mexico head coach Don Flanagan:
Comments on the game:
"I thought we gave a pretty good offensive effort. We shot better in the second half and we had some problems early on reversing the ball. For us to score 85 that was good.
Overall, I played everybody and in the long run that will be good. We pulled down 23 offensive rebounds and that was the difference tonight."
Comment on the Broncos:
"Western Michigan played hard throughout the whole game. They've got some nice players and they put pressure on us."
On Brandi Kimble's performance:
"That may be Brandi's (Kimble) best game ever. Her 12 offensive rebounds was huge tonight. She gets great position and that just proves that rebounding is more about desire than anything else."
Western Michigan head coach Ron Stewart:
Comments on Tonight's game:
"I am really pleased with the way we started the game in a hostile environment and against a strong program. I thought we came out and did the things we had to do early on, we rebounded the ball extremely well in the first half against a tough, physical club."
"We seemed to wear down a little bit and get ourselves in some foul trouble, but yet we still came out after the half feeling pretty good. We are really proud of our first half of the year. The second half we were down and just couldn't hang with them and they were able to get 20 there at the end."
"We just felt that our inability to physically compete and being in foul trouble is what really hurt us. It's not what we wanted offensively, but you have to give them credit for what they did defensively and they did a nice job."
