UNM whips UNLV 59-45, holding the Runnin' Rebels to a season scoring low...New Mexico is now 23-7 overall and 10-5 in the MWC...UNLV is 22-7 overall, 11-4 in the league

  • Steve Alford has surpassed Dave Bliss for most wins by a New Mexico head coach in his rookie season...Bliss went 22-11 in 1988-89

  • New Mexico is a +6 in conference games from last season, really the biggest improvement in school history...the lone exception was during World War II when the schedule was not as structured as it is now...UNM was 3-0 in the Border Conference in 1944 then 12-0 in 1945

  • finished with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for his 9th double-double of the season, 12th of his collegiate career and 5th in the MWC this season
  • played the entire 40 minutes after playing 44 in his last game, an overtime loss to BYU...however, it was just his third game of 40+ minutes this year
  • 15 rebounds are the 2nd-highest total of the season and most for him in a conference game
  • 5-6 from the FT line after making 6-16 his previous 2 games

  • 2-5 from 3-point range after going 0 for 5 in his last outing vs. BYU
  • season accuracy is now 47.6% (78-164) in all games and 48.2% (41-85) in MWC action
