ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The New Mexico women's golf team is ranked fourth in the latest Golf Week/Sagarin rankings released earlier this week. The ranking equals the highest of the season for the Lobos.
UNM has been ranked in the top 10 for 19 consecutive weeks, dating back to Sept. 29, when the Lobos entered the top 10 at No. 4 after winning the Dick McGuire Invitational. New Mexico has claimed three tournament titles this season (Dick McGuire Invitational; Landfall Tradition; Las Vegas Founders Women's Collegiate Showdown).
New Mexico moved up two spots in the latest poll after its impressive showing at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge held Feb. 9-11. The Lobos took second out of 15 teams in the highly ranked field. Twelve of the 15 teams at the tournament were ranked in the Top 25, including seven in the top 10. UNM second-place showing bested No. 3 Arizona, No. 5 California, No. 7 Georgia, No. 8 Oklahoma State and No. 9 Florida.
The Lobos return to action March 16-17 at the Hawai'i Invitational in Oahu.
