Sara Halasz Signs NLI With Lobo Women's Basketball

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- University of New Mexico women's basketball coach Don Flanagan has announced that Washington standout Sara Halasz signed a National Letter of Intent Monday. Halasz is a native of Lakewood, Wash., and listed as a 5-11 guard.

"Sara is an excellent all-around 2-3 guard with good athleticism," said Flanagan. "She is an excellent transition player with great overall skills. Her versatility will really impact our program."

Last year as a junior at Lakes High School, Halasz was named Western Cascade Conference Player of the Year, averaging 16.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game.

Halasz will join the program for the 2008-09 season.
