ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The No. 57 University of New Mexico men's tennis team welcomes the Sacramento State Hornets on Wednesday. The match will be in the Bubble at the Lobo Tennis Club starting at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
The Lobos have won three of their last four matches for a 5-5 record after splitting their matches this past weekend. They beat in-state rivals New Mexico State, 5-2, on Friday. Then Texas Tech proved too much, sweeping the Lobos 7-0, on Saturday. Graeme Kassautzki and Joe Wood won their doubles match at No. 3 but the Red Raiders won at the No. 1 and 2 spots for the doubles point.
The Hornets fly in with a 4-2 mark after winning their last two matches. Sacramento State beat UC Davis, 6-1, on Friday and then Pacific, 4-3, on Saturday. They will head to Las Cruces for three weekend matches after their stay in Albuquerque.
The Lobos will spend the weekend in Corpus Christi, Texas at the HEB Invitational. Their opponents are yet to be determined, but the tournament runs all day Friday and Saturday. New Mexico returns home on March 20 to battle Old Dominion.
