ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The No. 22/23 University of New Mexico women's basketball team will hit the road for a two game road trip, beginning Saturday afternoon at San Diego State. The Lobos are 19-7 on the season and 9-4 in conference, while the Aztecs are 3-21 overall and 0-14 in the MWC. Tip-off Saturday from the Cox Arena is set for 3:00 p.m. (MST) and all the action can be heard on KNML 610 AM.

TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game features the No. 22/23 Lobos of the University of New Mexico as they travel to San Diego, Calif., to play the Aztecs of San Diego State University in a MWC road game.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: UNM is 19-4 on the season and 9-4 in conference with wins over Oral Roberts in the first round of the preseason WNIT, Cal in the second round, at No. 12 Texas, Marist, Oklahoma State, No. 10 Minnesota, Louisiana Monroe, North Dakota State, home and away against New Mexico State, No. 22 Utah, home and away against Colorado State, Wyoming, home and away against Air Force, San Diego State, UNLV and TCU, with losses to Oklahoma twice, at No. 12 Arizona State, at TCU, at BYU, at Utah and at Wyoming. New Mexico is led in scoring by sophomore Dionne Marsh at 15.9 ppg. Senior Abbie Letz leads the team in rebounding at 7.5 rpg., while junior Katie Montgomery leads UNM in assists at 3.6 apg.

SCOUTING THE AZTECS: San Diego State is currently 3-21 overall and 0-14 in the MWC. The Aztecs have wins over Portland State, Boise State and UC Davis, with losses at Wichita State, San Diego, at UC Riverside, at UC Davis, at Pepperdine, Pittsburgh, Loyola College, at New Mexico, Wyoming and home and away to Colorado State, Air Force, Utah, UNLV, TCU and BYU. Leading the Aztecs in scoring is Michelle Strawberry at 13.8 ppg. Desiree Johnson leads SDSU in rebounding at 5.7 rpg, while Tamika Lipford leads them in assists at 3.4 apg.

THE COACHES: UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who in his 11th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 236-101 at UNM. San Diego State is under the direction of Beth Burns who is in her ninth season at SDSU and 14th season overall. Burns is 154-104 at the helm of the Aztecs and 236-169 overall.
