Oklahoma City, Okla. - Senior Tracey Berghian (Phoenix, Ariz.) was named MWC Diver of the Year after her outstanding performances at the 2004 MWC Championships. The award is Berghian's second career diver of the year honor. At the 2003 MWC Championships, Berghian was named diver of the year with teammate Becca Barras and BYU's Kelli Einfeldt.

Berghian was solid across the boards during the championships. On the first day of competition, Berghian claimed silver in the 1-meter finals with a score of 249.45. The second day of the championships did not include women's diving, but Berghian came back on the third day to capture a first-place finish on the 3-meter with 485.50 points. The final day of competition brought Berghian to the platform where she placed second with a score of 342.90.

Berghian and Barras return to Oklahoma City, Okla. for the Diving Zones meet, March 11-13. Last season at the Diving Zones, the diving duo placed in the top-25 in the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
