New Mexico Coach Ritchie McKay:
"I know our guys are disappointed in that locker room. We're tired of losing on the road. It's not because we're not trying, and it's not because we're not good enough, it's because we haven't made enough plays down the stretch on both ends of the floor. It's going to break sometime. There are still a lot of games in the season left. We are still a good team, but we're not a great team."
"Rebounding was key to the entire game. We told our guys before the trip that we have to stop transition and keep the game in the 60's and 70's. We didn't do it against UNLV, but we did it tonight. We had to be mentally tough and not turn the basketball over, and also know the time and score, and we did that fairly well, except down the stretch. But we also have to rebound, and tonight we got blasted on the boards. That was the difference in the game."
On David Chiotti not playing due to injury:
"I would have liked to have played David, but we would have done further damage to our situation. He's an important part on the defensive end of the floor and on the offensive end he's got his confidence back, but I didn't think that with him at 50 percent it would do us good in the long run."
