ALBQUERQUE, N.M. --- The University of New Mexico women's basketball team will hold its first full scrimmage this Friday from 6-8 p.m. inside The Pit. The scrimmage is open to the public and will be one of three scheduled before the Lobos open the season on Nov. 15 against Alcorn State. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.
This season, New Mexico returns three starters including all-conference selection Amy Beggin. The Lobos are coming off their seventh consecutive NCAA appearance and reached the 20-win plateau for the eighth straight year. Under the direction of head coach Don Flanagan, UNM has developed into a national power on the court and ranked sixth last season in home attendance.
UNM will participate in three scrimmages during the preseason along with the two exhibition games at home. The Lobos host Melbourne Roos on Nov. 4 before entertaining Alaska-Anchorage on Nov. 9. The final two scrimmages are set for Friday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 7 from 5-7 p.m. Visit GoLobos.com for more information.
