The University of New Mexico is set to host conference competition Utah this Thursday at the UNM Soccer Complex at 6 p.m. The game will be breast cancer awareness night for the Lobos and fans are encouraged to wear pink. New Mexico will be collecting new and gently used coats to donate to the Barrett House and Good Shepherd Center. Bring a coat to the game and receive a ticket for $2.
The Lobos improved to 8-1-3 on the season after defeating UNLV Oct. 9, and are 2-0-0 in Mountain West Conference action.
New Mexico is ranked No. 25 in this week's Soccer America poll and are receiving votes in the most recent Soccer Times poll. UNM has as RPI of 41, the second highest of a Mountain West Conference School. No. 8 BYU leads the MWC pack with an RPI of 21.
SERIES INFORMATION AGAINST UTAH: New Mexico is 5-10-2 all-time against Utah. In their last meeting, New Mexico took a 1-0 victory in Salt Lake City in 2009. The last time they faced off in Albuquerque, Utah came out on the winning end of a 1-0 win in 2008.
SCOUTING UTAH: Utah is coming off a 1-1 double-overtime draw against Wyoming. Both teams scored in the first half, then pitched shutouts for the remainder of the game.
