Burnaby, British Columbia - The University of New Mexico men's basketball team scored its third straight win of exhibition play with an 87-66 win over the Vancouver All-Stars. The Lobos were led by Javin Tindall's 18 points on 7-9 shooting, including 4-5 from three-point range.
Tindall played 27 minutes, grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists to lead the Lobos to the win. Tindall leads the team in scoring with 53 points in three games.
Five other Lobos scored in double-figures Saturday. Freshman Ryan Wall had 13 points on 5-7 shooting. Wall also dished out five assists, grabbed four rebounds and had two blocks. Sophomore David Chiotti went 6-9 from the field, scoring 12 points in just 17 minutes of play. Junior Collins Ferris and sophomore Mikal Monette added ten points each, while sophomore Jeff Hart added 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds. It was Hart's third straight game in double-figures.
Senior guard Ryan Ashcraft did not play in the game. He rested for tonight's contest against Simon Fraser. Simon Fraser lost to Calgary, 95-87, a team the Lobos defeated on Thursday, 77-78. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. (M.D.T.). The game will be tape delayed on www.team1040.ca following the baseball playoffs. Tonight's game is the fourth and final game of the Lobo's exhibition tour to Vancouver, B.C.
