ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico (2-0) men's basketball team defeated New Mexico Highlands (0-2) 86-59 Monday night at The Pit. The Lobos were led by senior Javin Tindall's career high 27 points, while sophomore David Chiotti collected his first career double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds) and nailed 7-of-8 shots from the field. Junior Alfred Neale also pitched in with 16 points.
The Lobos never trailed during their second victory of the season. New Mexico Highlands, who came within 5 points of the Lobos (29-34) at the 2:20 mark of the first half, were led by sophomore Terence Mirabal's 15 points.
The Lobos will attempt to make it three in a row against the University of Portland on Monday, December 1. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. at The Pit.
