ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- It does not look like University of New Mexico senior Malin Hemmingsson's ski career is going to wind down any time soon. Coming off of her third NCAA women's slalom title in four years on March 12 in Steamboat Springs, Colo., Hemmingsson spent the end of her senior year Spring Break in Lake Placid, N.Y. at the United States Alpine Skiing National Championships. Hemmingsson took third in the giant slalom on Tuesday morning, March 23 and fifth in the slalom on Sunday, March 21. Olympic silver medalist Julia Mancuso won the giant slalom title, just ahead of Hemmingsson by 0.33 seconds.

The NorAm Cup season concluded over the weekend as well with two returning Lobos earning some top finishes. Freshman Anne Cecilie Brusletto, a two-event All-American in 2010, won the NorAm overall women's giant slalom title. Sophomore Petter Brenna, an All-American in slalom in 2010, earned second place in the men's giant slalom overall standings and third in the men's slalom standings.
