As first-year University of New Mexico coach Bob Davie and his staff embark on their final week of recruiting before National Signing Day for college football on Feb. 1, golobos.com kicks off its weeklong coverage of the 2012 class.
Our countdown over the course of the week will include:
- A look at Coach Davie's task in putting a coaching staff together to land a recruiting class in two short months.
- A look at the role of UNM's compliance department in handling recruits and what's involved in getting their names announced publicly.
- Golobos.com senior writer Richard Stevens will do a feature story on the three 2012 recruits - quarterback Cole Gautsche, offensive lineman Bryan Oldenkamp and defensive end Richard Winston - already enrolled at UNM.
- Lobo TV coverage of Monday's news conference formally introducing Coach's Davie's staff.
On National Signing Day, go to golobos.com, where we will provide a live blog as we announce each recruit's letter of intent once our compliance office certifies the letter. We will also then release the names with their highlight videos on golobos.com and the New Mexico Lobos Facebook and Twitter pages.
Coach Davie will hold a Signing Day press conference at 3 p.m. next Wednesday to talk about the recruiting class, and Lobo TV will provide a behind-the-scenes look of the entire recruiting day.
It's been a whirlwind ride for Davie since he was hired as UNM's 31st head coach on Nov. 17, and golobos.com wants you to share in the shaping of his first Signing Day as Lobo head coach when you visit the website.
