Hello Lobo Fans,

This past weekend on the road definitely didn't afford the results that we would like, but every game is just another opportunity to grow and learn. Before we get too settled at home, we are back on the road for the third straight weekend to play in the Montana Tournament against North Dakota and next year's conference rival Boise State. Besides missing school, it is tough to go on the road back to back because the travel eventually takes a toll. Long flights, bus rides, different hotel rooms and restaurant food are all great luxuries, but it takes time to really adapt to that kind of lifestyle.

Something Lobo fans might not know is only 22 of the 31 rostered Lobos can travel on any given weekend. This means coaches need to make a tough decision often just days before the team leaves town. The girls who miss out on making the travel squad organize to get together and workout either playing small-sided games or hitting the weight room to get in a workout with strength coach Joaquin Chavez. This past weekend while the team was on the road, sophomores Chandler Guetz, Channing Perea, and Shelby Luna volunteered their Friday evening to participate in the Relay for Life fashion parade. The girls showcased some of the prizes that teams would receive based on the amount of money they raised. Members from the American Cancer Society were thrilled to have the young Lobos' support at the event. The night ended with the girls leading the audience in the Cupid Shuffle. So Big Thank You to Chandler, Channing and Shelby! To continue on with Q&A's, I decided to spend a minute with Head coach Kit Vela and Assistant coach Shannon Cross.
