SAN DIEGO (AP) - Julie Briody tied a career high with 20 points as No. 23 New Mexico beat San Diego State 75-48 on Saturday.

Briody replaced an injured Dionne Marsh, who sprained her left ankle 5 minutes into the game. Marsh, who leads the Lobos (20-7, 10-4 Mountain West Conference) in scoring with 15.9 points a game, was helped off the court but later returned to the bench on crutches.

Briody made her first three 3-pointers, keying a 23-11 run to increase the lead to 35-15. She entered the game averaging six points a game, but was 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. Briody also had five rebounds.

Jana Francis scored 15 points and Katie Montgomery added 14 for the Lobos.

Veronica Shaw led San Diego State (3-22, 0-15) with 16 points and seven rebounds. San Diego State has lost 15 straight.

The Lobos, who led 45-23 at halftime, went on a 22-11 run to start the second half to boost its lead to 67-34. New Mexico outrebounded San Diego State 39-28.
