Wyking Jones Leaves for Assistant Position at University of Louisville

Albuquerque, N.M. --- University of New Mexico head men's basketball coach Steve Alford has announced that Wyking Jones, who served as an assistant coach for two years, is leaving the university to become an assistant coach with the University of Louisville.

"Wyking has been an integral part of our success the last two years," said Steve Alford. "This is a great opportunity for him and we wish him the best."

Along with the move, Alford has announced that Duane Broussard, who has been the Director of Basketball Operations for the past three years, will replace Wyking as an assistant coach.

"We have promoted Duane Broussard to assistant coaching duties," said Alford. "Duane has been at the university for 9 years and is very deserving of this. I'm really excited about Duane's new role in our program."

New Mexico: Announced men's basketball assistant Wyking Jones has taken a similar position at the University of Louisville, and Duane Broussard, formerly director of basketball operations, has been promoted to assistant coach.
