ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's basketball team will try to end a three game losing streak as they play host to Brigham Young University Wednesday night in The Pit. The Lobos are 10-5 on the year and 0-2 in the MWC, while the Cougars are 10-4 this season and 1-0 in the conference. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM and can be heard live on 610 AM The Sports Animal.

TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico playing at home against the Cougars of BYU in a Mountain West Conference game.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: New Mexico is 10-5 this season and 0-2 in the MWC with victories over Florida Atlantic (74-44), No. 25 Texas (63-60), Georgia Southern (64-43), Siena (78-39), New Mexico State (81-47 and 65-45), at Arizona (76-63), Sam Houston State (77-41), UCLA (72-63) and Northern Arizona (62-51) and losses to No. 12/13 Arizona State (67-49), Nebraska (66-59), No. 7/8 Oklahoma (80-58), Wyoming (54-51) and Utah (49-48). UNM is led in scoring by senior Julie Briody at 17.0 ppg and rebounding by junior Dionne Marsh at 6.1 rpg. Leading the Lobos in assists is senior Katie Montgomery at 3.2 apg.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS: BYU is 10-4 this year and 1-0 in the conference with wins over Idaho State (73-50), Stanford (55-52), Santa Clara (77-63), Harvard (66-51), New Mexico State (60-43), Cal State North ridge (55-48), Weber State (79-42), Utah Valley State (71-57), Cal Riverside (66-57) and Air Force (59-46) and losses to Baylor (84-58), Fresno State (61-51), Hartford (60-43) and Oregon (70-61). The Cougars are led in scoring and rebounding by Dani Wright at 12. 9 ppg and 6.2 rpg, while Melinda Johnsen leads them in assists at 3.7 apg.

THE COACHES: UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who enters his 12th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 249-109 at UNM. The head coach of BYU is Jeff Judkins who is in his sixth season as a Cougar and has a record of 113-56.
