Kowalski Named Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player Of The Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Junior David Kowalski has been named the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week after posting a singles and doubles victory against Northern Arizona last weekend. This is his second career player of the week accolade and the first of the season.

Kowalski, a Carlsbad, N.M., native, started the match teaming with Ryan Stotland (No. 37 tandem in the nation) to defeat Thibault Schram and Lew DeLeon at No. 1 doubles, 9-8 (3). At No. 2 singles, the 72nd-ranked Kowalski easily defeated Jeremy Coll (6-2, 6-0) to complete the sweep. Kowalski is now 3-0 in dual match singles and doubles.

Kowalski and the Lobos will be in action this weekend when they travel to California for two matches. They will take on Santa Clara, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. and San Francisco, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m.
