COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- University of New Mexico seniors Anna Lehne and Allie Suiter made the most of their last opportunity to play in their home state as Lobos. Lehne, from Pueblo, Colo., led UNM with 12 kills and Suiter, from Littleton, Colo., added six kills as the Lobo volleyball team beat Air Force, 3-0 (25-9, 25-23, 25-20). Lehne also had four blocks in the match to move into second place on the UNM career total blocks list with 337, passing former teammate Kelly Therkelsen (336, 2003-06).

New Mexico (15-8, 6-5 MWC) came out strong in the first set, putting away Air Force quickly 25-9. Suiter was a perfect 3K-0E-3TA offensively in the set to pace the attack.

The Lobos started the second set with four straight kills, 4-0, including two by Lehne. Lobo errors and key attacks by the Falcons, pulled the teams even at 16-16. A service ace by Suiter and AFA errors moved UNM ahead 21-17. The Lobos held the four-point lead to 23-19, before Air Force rattled off three consecutive kills to close the lead, 23-22. A kill by Lobo senior Rose Morris, followed by an Air Force kill and blocking error, gave UNM the 25-23 win.

Air Force (8-15, 0-10 MWC) came out swinging in the third set, taking its first lead of the match on a Lobo error, 2-1. The Falcons stayed in the hunt and built a five-point lead to 19-14. But the Lobos buckled down and went on an 11-1 run to win the set and match, 25-20. During the run, Lehne had four kills and picked up her fourth block of the match.
