EVANSTON, ILL.--The Lobos are now 6-3 after falling to the University of Northwestern with a score of 6-1. The Lobos have lost all three road games looking to change it up against DePaul tomorrow February 19, 2012.
The Lobos were looking to change the momentum towards UNM after losing one point to doubles. The Lobos were able to gain one more point before Northwestern took it back to win the match.
At number one singles, Jadon Phillips took on Sidarth Balaji falling with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
Ben Dunbar played Spencer Wolf at number two singles dropping the match with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
Number three singles was no different with Samir Iftikhar falling to Raleigh Smith with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
Conor Berg changed the pace against Alex Pasareanu at the number four spot earning a win for the Lobos with a score of 6-2, 6-3.
Carl Ho was the last to finish at the number five singles against Nikhil Jayashankar. He took the match to three sets but fell by two points in the third set. The final match score was 6-7, 6-2, 15-13 for Northwestern.
Mitch McDaniels played Chris Jackman at the number six singles dropping the match with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
"We have to do a better job on the road coming out and imposing our game on our opponents. We were way too passive in singles and doubles allowing our opponents to push us around," Head Coach Alan Dils said. "What we have done well at home hasn't translated to our road matches yet."
The Lobos will play DePaul tomorrow February 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. MT in Evanston, Illinois.
