Lobos End Regular Season With Tough Competition At Home

Albuquerque, N.M.- The University of New Mexico women's tennis team wraps up regular season play at home this weekend with matches against BYU, No. 42 Utah and TCU. The Lobos meet the Cougars Friday at 2 p.m. Play continues Saturday at 2 p.m. against the Utes and Sunday at 3 p.m. against the Horned Frogs.

Scouting BYU
The Cougars are 7-12, 3-3 on the season. BYU is coming off a loss to Wyoming. The Cowgirls handed the Cougars a 4-3 loss in Laramie this past Saturday.

BYU has a ranked player in No. 35 McCall Jones. Jones is 14-3 at the No. 1 singles position, where she has been all spring.

The last time these two teams met the Lobos handed the Cougars a 4-3 loss in the first round of the MWC Championships on April 23, 2009 at the Jerry Cline Tennis Center. The win advanced New Mexico to the semifinals of the championships.

Scouting Utah
Utah is currently ranked 42 on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association polls. The Utes are 14-6, 6-0 on the season. Utah is the only Mountain West Conference team undefeated in conference play.

Anastasia Putilina is ranked No. 83 on the ITA polls. The sophomore is 10-7 at the No. 1 singles spot this spring.

The Lobos have a 16-11 all-time record vs. the Utes. Last year New Mexico captured their first conference win of the season with a 4-3 victory in Fort Worth, Texas on April 4.

Scouting TCU
TCU is 6-14, 3-2 on the season. The Horned Frogs are heading to Albuquerque coming off a 4-3 loss to UNLV this past Saturday in Las Vegas.

TCU has a ranked player in Nina Munch-Soegaard at No. 52 on the ITA polls.

New Mexico is 0-9 all-time vs. TCU. Last year the Lobos fell, 0-7 on April 5 to the Horned Frogs in Fort Worth, Texas.
