Statement from Ritchie McKay - "Needless to say, we are excited about Bambale's commitment to the University of New Mexico. We knew about ten hours into his visit that he is our type of person: very humble, friendly, unselfish; all characteristics that we look to attract to add to the guys we already have in our program. And, then there's Bambale the player. As mild-mannered and unassuming as he is off the floor, he definitely has a split personality when he steps between the lines. Boom has a warrior-like mentality when he plays. He is a great rebounder, a good shot blocker and an excellent offensive player around the basket. Although he is a little undersized, he is really efficient. He kind of reminds me of a young Malik Rose (San Antonio Spurs). Playing in a well-respected AAU program like the Richmond Squires has helped Bambale tremendously."
