New Mexico's Natalie Gray Named MWC Athlete of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.---New Mexico junior Natalie Gray was named the Women's Outdoor Track & Field Co-Athlete of the Week as announced today by the Mountain West Conference. BYU's junior Katy Andrews shared the award with Gray.

Hailing from Maidstone, England, Gray set a New Mexico outdoor program record in the women's 5,000-meter run last weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., clocking in at 15:52.73. Gray's time ranks fourth all-time in Mountain West history and is the top mark in the Conference this season. Her time also ranks fifth in the NCAA during the 2011 season.

It is the first award of the 2011 outdoor season for a Lobo athlete.
