LAS VEGAS, Nev.--The University of New Mexico women's basketball team defeated the Air Force Falcons, 84-41 today in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament inside the Thomas and Mack Center. Junior Amy Beggin led the way for the Lobos with 18 points - all in the first half. The Lobos, the No. 4 seed, will advance to the second round with an overall record of 21-9. The Falcons, the No. 9 seed, will end their season with an overall record 4-26. The victory marks the 26th consecutive time New Mexico has defeated Air Force.

The Lobos led by 20 points at the half thanks to Beggin's quick 18 first half points. New Mexico put together two runs that sealed the deal early.
