Ryan Murphy Wins Southwest Kansas Pro-Am

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Assistant men's golf coach Ryan Murphy won the rain shortened 36-hole Southwest Kansas Pro-Am in Garden City, Kansas. Murphy won the tournament by one stroke over Derek Lamely of Fort Myers, Florida. Murphy shot an opening round 6-under par, 66 at the par-72 6,774 yard Buffalo Dune Golf Course and followed that with a 3-under par, 68 at the par-71 6,935 yard Southwind Country Club. Murphy has three top-10 finishes at the Southwest Kansas Pro-Am in four years. Next up for the New Mexico men's golf team is the U.S. Amateur. The Lobos will have seniors Madalitso Muthiya and Jay Reynolds and juniors Mark Anderson, Jay Choi and Spencer Levin competing in the event, which begins August 16.
