No. 6 Lobo Women's Golf Takes Third At Ping/Arizona State Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - The sixth-ranked New Mexico women's golf placed third at the Ping/Arizona State Invitational Sunday afternoon with a 17-over 881 (300-288-293). No. 2 UCLA won the tournament with a 3-under 861. The Lobos placed ahead of four Top 25 teams, including No. 5 California and No. 10 Arizona.

Freshman Ashley Rollins paced the Lobos with a 2-over 218 (77-70-71) to place in a tie for ninth. Junior Kailin Downs tied for 12th with a 3-over 219 (73-72-74).

Junior Shannon Johnson shot a 9-over 225 (79-72-74) to tie for 34th, while senior Katrina Leckovic carded a 10-over 226 (75-77-74) to tie for 38th. Junior Christina Spence, in her first tournament this season in the season starting lineup, tied for 44th with a score of 75-74-78-227 (+11).

The Lobos resume action April 22-24 at the Mountain West Championships in Bend, Ore.
