TULSA, Okla. - Max Jones won his first round match of the qualifying draw at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships in singles. Jones, defeated Omar Abramovich from the College of Charleston after winning the long first set 7-6 (4) and then went 6-1 in the second set to win the match. His second round match will be on Tuesday against Stanford's Alex Clayton.
Both Graeme Kassautzki and Johnny Parkes lost in the first round of the qualifying draw on Monday. Kassautzki lost to Rudolf Siwy (6-1, 7-6(1)) from Fresno State while Johnny Parkes fell on the short side of a three set match (1-6, 6-4, 6-0) against Jordan Rux from Baylor University in Doubles Teams Set to Hit The Courthe first round.
The Lobos begin doubles on Tuesday. Jones teams up with Kamil Pajkowski while both Chris and Johnny Parkes will play as a team. On Tuesday (Oct. 2) the Parkes brothers will play against Bryan Koniecko and Steven Moneke from Ohio State University. Jones and Pajkowski will match-up in the first round against Sascha Heinemann and Andreas Weber from the University of Hawaii on Tuesday afternoon.
