TUCSON, ARIZONA - The University of New Mexico finished 11th at the National Invitational Tournament. The Lobos could not overcome a rough second round and finished the tournament at 29-over par (291-306-296=893) on the par-72, 7,094 yard OMNI Tucson National Golf Course.
Individually the Lobos were led by Jay Reynolds who shot a final round 71 to finish at 1-over par (72-74-71=217) in a tie for 16th. Other New Mexico individual results were Madalitso Muthiya tied for 44th at 9-over par (73-75-77=225), Ian Medlock tied for 47th at 10-over par (74-79-73=226), tied for 52nd was Miguel Griego at 11-over par (72-78-77=227) and Tyler Symons finished 58th at 19-over par (77-83-75=235).
The team championship went to Arizona State who held off host Arizona and shot a 54-hole total 856 (279-287-290) to win by two strokes. Medalist honors went to Ryan Moore who led wire-to-wire and finished at 9-under par (64-73-70=207), while Brock Mackenzie of Washington finished second at 7-under par.
