ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --  The University of New Mexico Men's Soccer team got four goals and a pair of shutouts against Fort Lewis College on Saturday morning at the Robertson Practice Field.

The Lobos won the first match 4-0 thanks to a pair of goals from all-conference forward James Rogers. The junior scored the match's first goal in the 15th minute when he buried a blast into the back of the net off an Adrian Mora Delgado pass.

Coach Fishbein and company would get three goals in the second half, which began with freshman James Wypych's score in his first action as a Lobo.  Wypych scored off a Michael Kafari assist for the team's second goal. The Kiwi also picked up an assist on the team's final goal on a beautiful pass across the box to James Rogers.

In between those two goals, Michael Calderon also found the back of the net. The senior had a takeaway from a Skyhawk defender at midfield and scored on the ensuing breakaway in a play very similar to the Costa Rican's goal against Virginia in last year's NCAA Tournament.

The two teams played an abbreviated second match of only 45 minutes. New Mexico elected to play a majority of their freshmen and newcomers in the second match, which ended in a 0-0 draw.

Goalkeepers Patrick Poblete and Michael Lisch split time between the pipes for UNM and kept Fort Lewis off the board all day.

New Mexico's spring schedule will continue on Saturday, April 6th with a pair of matches against UC Riverside and Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.
