ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The Lobo baseball team will be on television three times during the 2008 regular season as announced by the Mountain West Conference today. New Mexico will be the guest for two games on BYUTV/The Mtn. at BYU on May 2 and 3. The third game will be the regular season finale when the Lobos take on TCU at Isotopes Park on Saturday, May 17. That game will be televised on The Mtn.

"This is awesome," said Lobo baseball coach Ray Birmingham. "Not only will this prepare us for the NCAA Tournament, it will give us a chance to show off what a great baseball atmosphere we have at UNM. Everything from our great facilities to our great fan support."

The Mountain West baseball package features 18 games on national and regional television, with the possibility of a 19th game, if a second championship contest is necessary at the 2008 Phillips 66 MWC Baseball Tournament. The television package includes seven conference match-ups, one non-league game and all MWC Tournament contests. The championship game(s) will be broadcast live by The Mtn., and re-aired on CBS College Sports Network (formerly known as CSTV). It will also be the second consecutive season that all game from the baseball championship will be televised.

Seventeen games will be shown on the Mountain West Sports Network, the Mtn., with two more to be telecast nationally on CBS College Sports Network.

The Mtn. will not only broadcast live games, but will air pre-game and post game shows for all baseball games, as well as regular coverage on The Mtn.'s shows The Mountain View and The Mountain Cap, which break down MWC games, look ahead to the big games on the horizon and feature extensive game highlights. The Mtn. will also feature coverage on baseball players and coaches on Mountain Peak Performances, a weekly show which puts the spotlight on athletes and coaches in Olympic sports.

In the Albuquerque area, The Mtn. is available on Comcast Channel 276, while CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV) is on Comcast 274. BYU-TV is on Comcast 289.
