Albuquerque, N.M. - New Mexico women's soccer dropped a 1-0 decision to Purdue Sunday at the UNM Soccer Complex. The Lobos outshot the Boilermakers, 13-11, in the match but could not capitalize on their scoring opportunities. UNM drops its second in a row and falls to 3-3-0 this season. PU records their sixth shutout of the year and moves to 6-1-1.
The Boilermakers found the net in the 21st minute for the game-winner. Parrissa Eyorokon scored the goal for PU, it was her third of the year. Jessica Okoroafo and Jill Sarbaugh had assists on the play.
UNM had 13 shots in the match with three on goal. Senior Kaela Kelly had three shots in the game to lead the Lobos. Sophomore Shannon Adragna played all 90 minutes in the net for UNM, collecting two saves.
The Lobos will host UTEP on Sun., Sept. 17 starting at 4:00 p.m. MT. The match will be played at the UNM Soccer Complex in Albuquerque, N.M. For more information about UNM women's soccer visit www.golobos.com.
