ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The University of New Mexico women's swimming and diving team has not only been active in the pool this season, but also in the local community.

This past November Lobo swimmers, divers and coaches worked shifts selling concesssions at the Lobo Aquatics Holiday Invite, a club team swim meet, held at West Mesa Pool. The meet was a weekend event with a total of 334 swimmers competing. The event was a great way for the Lobos to be seen by the community as well as serving as a fundraiser. The Lobos interacted with the younger and older swimmers, as well as the parents, answering questions about the university, the swimming and diving program and about their favorite aspects of the sport.

Currently the Lobos are completing their winter training in Florida. Competition will resume on Friday, Jan. 19 when UNM will host TCU. Competition begins at 12 p.m. The next day the Lobos will again play host, but to Utah, beginning at 2 p.m. The Lobos are currently 5-3 overall and 2-2 in Mountain West Conference competition. The Lobos are tied for 5th out of 9 in conference standings.
