LAS VEGAS, Nev.---The University of New Mexico women's soccer team recorded its first conference victory of the season as they defeated UNLV 4-0 on Friday night. Junior Jennifer Williams recorded her second hat trick of her career scoring three goals while adding an assist.

William's previous hat trick came on Aug. 30, 2009 when she found the back of the net three times and had two assists in a 6-2 victory over Illinois State on the same field in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Lobos took an early lead as junior Jael Fanning scored for UNM in the 34th minute off of a pass from Williams.

The final three goals for New Mexico came in the second half, all from Williams. The second goal of the game was scored when Williams dribbled through the box and beat the keeper five minutes into the second half. Williams' next two goals came within three minutes of each other. Her second was in the 84th minute when she stole the ball at midfield and beat the keeper one-on-one. The final goal of the game found the back of the net at the 87th minute when Williams received a pass from Rachel Fields and secured the hat trick.

New Mexico freshman goalkeeper Sydney George saw 45 minutes of action protecting the Lobo goal while recording four saves and preventing the Rebels from finding the back of the net.

UNM is now 7-1-3 on the season, 1-0-0 in Mountain West Conference action. New Mexico returns to the Land of Enchantment for their first home game since Sept. 4 this Saturday when they host San Diego State at 5 p.m.
