Colorado/Laura Sharpe Flood Memorial Invitational - Final Results

ASPEN, Colo. --- The University of New Mexico ski team finished in third place at the University of Colorado/Laura Sharpe Flood Memorial Invitational with 506 points. The Lobos picked up 111 points on the final day of competition, finishing behind host Colorado (564.5) and defending national champion Denver (541).

Junior Tor-Hakon Hellebostad recorded his best men's freestyle finish in a Lobo uniform by placing 2nd in today's 21-kilometer race with a time of 55:11.4, edging out Montana State's Bernhard Roenning by 0.1 seconds. Sophomores Martin Kaas and Simon Reissmann picked up the other points for UNM, finishing 10th and 15th, respectively. For Kaas, it was the second day in a row that he recorded a career-best finish in an event.

The women's Nordic squad was led by junior Polina Ermoshina in 10th place with a time of 1:07:23.1 in the 21-kilometer freestyle race. Senior Melanie Zemp placed 21st, followed by freshmen Svenja Niemeier in 25th and Ingrid Leask in 27th.

The Lobos have an 18-day break from RMISA competition before the University of Denver Invitational, Feb. 6-7 in Winter Park, Colo.
